Biography

Eva María González Díaz, born in 1973 in Bilbao, Spain, is a distinguished interventional neuroradiologist. Graduating in 1997 from the University of the Basque Country, she embarked on her medical journey, specializing in radiology due to her keen interest in interventional procedures. Completing her residency at the University Hospital of Cruces, Bilbao, she transitioned to interventional neuroradiology in 2002. Notably, she underwent specialized training at the Radclyffe Infirmary Hospital in Oxford, UK, in 2003, and further honed her skills in German, French, and Turkish hospitals. Assuming the role of department head after her maternity leave in 2009, she spearheaded 24-hour interventional neuroradiology services in 2012, making significant strides in stroke treatment. She has shared her expertise internationally through lectures, authored articles in prestigious journals, and is a leading contributor to the field, recently featured in the British Medical Journal. Additionally, she actively contributes to academic training at the University of Santiago de Compostela and is a respected member of various neurovascular pathology committees and scientific societies.
